Try this delicious and nutritious alternative to potato crisps
We are a nation of crisp lovers, but unfortunately these little bags of delight are laced with saturated fat and salt. So here’s a simple recipe for your very own crisps made from kale, which is bursting with nutrients, including iron, vitamin A and vitamin C. With just three ingredients, and hardly any preparation work, they are the perfect pre-dinner party snack or just to nibble on in front of Netflix, with a glass of chilled white wine.
One bunch of kale
One tablespoon of olive oil
One teaspoon seasoned salt
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) (Aga, roasting oven). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 2: With a knife or kitchen scissors, carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry the kale with a salad spinner or dab with kitchen roll.
Step 4: Drizzle the kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
Step 3: Bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, until the edges brown but are not burnt.
