Menai Bridge, Anglesey

by Webmaster, 23rd October 2018

With its three-tier terrace, hot tub, waterfront location and large windows offering views towards the mountains, what’s not to love about this luxurious family home?

This waterfront house has the magical combination of privacy, plus fantastic views over the Menai Strait.

In fact, everything about Ger y Dwr is centred around fine living, whether it’s the terraces that soak up the sun, the hot tub ideal for relaxing in at any time of year, the underfloor heating, or the natural light that streams into the house.

Even from the first approach, the house has the feel of somewhere special. The property’s scenic drive leads through woodland to a wide parking area, from where you can head to the wonderful terrace with its views down to the water.

The hot tub sits on a lower terrace, and a lawn stretches down to the edge of the Menai Strait, across which you can see mainland Wales. A concrete slipway is a useful addition for those with boats.

Otherwise, the three acres of land in which the house is located is mostly woodland, with Scots pine, beech and oak.

Inside, Ger y Dwr is no less luxurious. The kitchen has both a five-door Aga and a separate single Aga. It has units handmade by North Wales-based Tegla, black granite work surfaces, and two breakfast areas – one with views across the terrace.

The dining room has a high ceiling, a lovely open fire, and is surrounded by a galleried first-floor landing. It also has views over the terrace to the water below, as do the games room and the sitting room, also located on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are six large bedrooms, most of which are en-suite. Four of the rooms overlook the Menai Strait, five have Juliet balconies, and all have either fitted wardrobes, or plenty of space for your own bedroom furniture.

The property is conveniently located five minutes from Menai Bridge, Beaumaris and the North Wales Expressway, and is around 10 minutes from Bangor, so there are plenty of amenities right on the doorstep.

There are some properties that are hard to ignore, and with its combination of land, luxury and location, Ger y Dwr will reward you for a lifetime.
