COASTAL WALKS

A walking resolution

by Webmaster, 18th December 2020

Have you resolved to get fit in 2021? With walking one of the best ways to achieve this, why not take those first steps and try one of our scenic routes

'New year, new you' – how many of us have heard that, joined a gym and given up before January is even out? Well, with gyms shut again, it's worth remembering that the easiest (and one of the best) ways to get fit is quite literally just a step away – walking.

Not only that, there’s plenty of world-class walking on offer along the Welsh coast, with routes suitable for complete beginners looking to get fit in 2021 through to seasoned hikers in search of new challenges. So try these in readiness for a return to freedom...

NB: Although at the time of writing most hotels, pubs and restaurants were closed, we've included them in our research, in the hope of a lifting of restrictions in the near future

ROUTE 1 - A Pembrokeshire classic offering easy access to some of the finest coastal views in Wales

ROUTE 2 - An easy, relaxing walk along golden sands and up the beautiful Dyfi Estuary, Gwynedd, followed by a scenic return journey by train

ROUTE 3 - A pleasant walk inland from Conwy offering fine views of both the coastline and Snowdonia

Route inaccessible? If you find that any of the routes featured on walesandborders.com has become inaccessible in any way, do let us know so we can alert the necessary authorities on your behalf. You can email the Web Editor at webeditor@borderpublishing.com
