Exercise is one of the few defined reasons we are allowed to leave home during the coronavirus pandemic. But keep it local
The restrictions put in place in March to tackle Covid-19 allow for one form of exercise per day, which could be a run, a cycle ride or a walk.
Government advice states we should only go outside alone or with members of our own households and that we should keep at least two metres apart from anyone outside our household at all times.
Additionally, we should stay local and use open spaces near to our homes where possible. And we should not travel unnecessarily to exercise.
The definition of 'local' and what is necessary and what isn't remain vague. Probably for good reason. Common sense plays an important part in our fight against the virus. But it is clear that we should not be driving long distances to seek out great walks. So please don't.
