Strolls in the shade

by Webmaster, 27th July 2020

Even on the hottest summer days, these circular routes are shady and cool, winding through sun-dappled woodland and breezy meadows

In winter we crave the sun. But in the sweltering heat of summer, it’s often preferable to escape its strong rays when out on a ramble, for part of the walk at least.

And what better way to do this than in the shadow of a mighty oak, or against the trunk of a graceful birch?

Both of our walks this month o er some respite from the sizzling rays by featuring native woodland teeming with wildfl owers, mammals and birds.

ROUTE 1 – Nature aplenty near the River Wye, Herefordshire

ROUTE 2 – Trees, meadows and limestone outcrops in Shropshire
