It’s time to take it easy with two jaunts that’ll help you drift merrily through a summer’s day

While it’s important to keep fit, occasionally it also does us good to go for a gentle stroll and take in the scenery, rather than power up hills, working up a sweat.

This is particularly true in June, when we can experience some hot and balmy days, even here in Wales and the Borders.

These two midsummer meanders - as featured in the Summer 2021 issue of Welsh Border Life (download for free, here) - will get you outside enjoying the summer sun without over-exerting yourself. And you can always finish your walk with a picnic, crisp glass of white wine and a much deserved doze in the sunshine.

ROUTE 1 – Pleasant ridge and summer meadows in Herefordshire

ROUTE 2 – A relaxing stroll along the meandering River Dee
