Plan ahead to enjoy the seasonal spectacle of a golden autumn amble
Autumn can be a contradiction. It's a time for long, leisurely wanders in the hazy, misty air of the fading clement days before winter sets in. And yet, to make the most of it, you have to have your wits about you.
As the leaves turn to reveal their golden glory, it only takes a gale or a downpour to steal the moment from us. We marvel at the colours of the season, but make no mistake, the window for revelling in autumnal delight can be small. So be ready. And that starts with knowing where to go for the best of walks.
These two golden greats - as featured in more detail in the autumn 2021 issue of Welsh Border Life (download for free, here) - combine the splendour of woodland at the height of autumn with truly jaw-dropping views over some of our region's most iconic locations.
