Wales could be key to the survival of this beautiful creature
A critically endangered shark has been sighted in Welsh waters, though no-one knows exactly where it lives.
The angel shark is a flat shark that camouflages itself on the seabed ready to strike at prey.
It was hunted in the UK up until the 1980s, before becoming protected, and its numbers are still struggling worldwide due to pollution and disturbance to its habitat.
But the species has recently been spotted by fishermen off Cardigan Bay, north of Anglesey and in the Bristol Channel. Marine biologists are appealing to those who head out on the water to keep an eye out and notify authorities if they think they've spotted one.
