Win a first-class excursion on the Welsh Highland Railway

by Webmaster, 18th February 2020

Welsh Coastal Life readers have the chance to win a fantastic first-class return trip for two, on the Welsh Highland Railway (part of Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways) in Gwynedd, with a delicious Welsh tea included.

A full day out, the experience that’s up for grabs includes a journey along the 25-mile-long Welsh Highland Railway between Porthmadog and Caernarfon, taking in some truly stunning North Wales countryside, including parts of the Snowdonia National Park, and popular tourist destinations like the village of Beddgelert along the way.

At the end of the first half of the journey, the winner can stretch their legs and explore the surroundings – whether you start your journey in Porthmadog and end up in Caernarfon, or vice versa, both towns offer a superb array of eateries and independent shops, along with a range of things to see and do.

As well as first-class tickets to ride in one of the railway’s beautiful Pullman observation carriages – each of which are built in the railway’s own specialist workshop – the lucky winner will also receive a copy of the Welsh Highland Railway’s Traveller’s Guide Book (worth £5), and Welsh tea on the return journey, including hot drinks, plus delicious bara brith and Welsh cakes.
