Christmas may be a while off, but it's never too early to plan a trip to Ludlow's quirky medieval festive fayre
Take a leap back through time and experience the festive spirit of yesteryear as the Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre brings costumes and characters back to the medieval south Shropshire market town of Ludlow.
This much-loved event will take place at Ludlow Castle on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November, combining traditional festive flair with live performances, hearty food and revelry aplenty.
Among the historic attractions and re-enactments at this year’s fayre, there’ll be a colourful variety of performers ready to entertain the crowds, including joking jesters, duelling knights and enthralling storytellers, along with a series of workshops and demonstrations that allow visitors to get hands on with the festive preparations undertaken in days gone by. Those in the mood for a spot of Christmas shopping are also in luck, as there’ll be more than 100 stalls to peruse, all brimming with unique gifts and treats that are sure to tick a few presents off your list.
This event offers the whole family an opportunity to revel in the seasonal atmosphere of this particularly historic location, with plenty to keep young and old fascinated throughout. Brace yourself for the greatest medieval spectacle that Ludlow has ever seen.
