Anglo-Welsh rockers The Crisis are set to return to Lake Vyrnwy this December with their legendary Christmas show
Three years after rocking the Lake Vyrnwy village of Llanwddyn with their 'So here it is, nearly Xmas' show, The Crisis are back to do it all again. Only this time it'll be the middle of December, not the end of November, hence the 'It's only just begun' show title.
The rock covers band - featuring members on both sides of the border - went down so well last time around that there were instant demands for their return. Sadly they were silenced by the pandemic. But with Llanwddyn's events schedule now back up to speed, this Christmas will see the boys back in town for another two-hour rock out.
Songs by the likes of David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Jam, Simple Minds, Oasis and The Killers all feature in the set-list. And this year - with the event taking place on the penultimate weekend before Christmas - there's the promise of one or two festive numbers as well.
"We're delighted to finally be back on the shores of Lake Vyrnwy," says keyboardist Guy Vickers. "Our last show there went down a storm and we've been itching to take to the stage there again. Being that much closer to Christmas this time will add extra spice to the atmosphere, too, so we can't wait."
The pandemic caused major disruption to local community centres and it's only now that many are starting to get back on their feet.
"It's going to be nice to be part of another major event at Llanwddyn," adds Guy. "It's got a thriving village community, what with the likes of the half marathon and the folk festival. And with those events restarting this year, for us to be able to help finish off 2022 in style is a good feeling. It's going to be a great night."
